The One UI 7 beta launch is imminent, and the software promises significant updates for both older phones and newer handsets like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Tipster Ice Universe (via Android Authority) reports that the upcoming software update has “significantly optimized” the rear camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, enhancing photo and video clarity.
Recent leaks suggest One UI 7 will feature a visual overhaul, inspired in part by iOS 18, with more rounded corners, smoother animations, and changes to the notification panel.
Improvements to camera performance were expected with the One UI 6.1.1 update due in August, but it appears the optimizations for the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s camera will continue with One UI 7. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, along with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, launched in January, have already seen numerous fixes and upgrades, primarily focused on camera updates.
Samsung has addressed issues such as inaccurate white balance and abnormal red coloring in earlier updates for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, following improvements in shutter speed, video clarity, and exposure. While it would be ideal if everything worked perfectly from the start, it’s reassuring to see Samsung’s commitment to fixing sub-par performance, even if it takes multiple attempts.
The exact release date for the One UI 7 update is uncertain, especially since One UI 6.1.1 needs to appear first. Reports indicate One UI 7 is still quite buggy, so it may be some time before it is available to everyone.
