Nvidia, a leader in GPU technology, is set to elevate the gaming experience for enthusiasts with the introduction of DLSS 3 support for several popular titles. DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, is Nvidia’s proprietary AI-powered technology known for enhancing image quality and optimizing game performance. DLSS 3, which was launched a little over a year ago, is designed to offer a significant boost to frame rates, up to 4 times faster, resulting in noticeable improvements in performance and overall visual quality.
The power of DLSS 3 has garnered praise for its remarkable performance enhancements in a multitude of games. Recently, Nvidia introduced DLSS 3.5 for RTX GPUs, promising an even more substantial performance boost, although its support is currently limited. Initially, DLSS 3 was made available for over 35 games and applications, but Nvidia is continually expanding this list by introducing DLSS to new titles through updates.
In this latest announcement, Nvidia is bringing DLSS 3 support to Naraka: Bladepoint, Slender: The Arrival, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 via upcoming updates. To showcase the capabilities of DLSS, Nvidia released a comparison video of Naraka: Bladepoint running with and without DLSS enabled, revealing a significant improvement with the frame rate more than doubling. Slender: The Arrival is receiving DLSS support through its 10th-anniversary update, delivering an average performance increase of 2.8 times at 4K resolution, according to Nvidia. Additionally, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is now offering support for DLSS 3, enhancing the gaming experience in the Warhammer Fantasy universe.
Naraka: Bladepoint, developed by 24 Entertainment, is a melee-focused battle royale game accommodating up to 60 players. Slender: The Arrival is a first-person horror title set within the Slender Man universe, celebrating its 10th anniversary. Meanwhile, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, adds DLSS 3 support, following the inclusion of DLSS in Warhammer 40K at launch.
Beyond these titles, Nvidia has also announced that AirportSim and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged will debut with DLSS 2 support. Additionally, Land of the Vikings will add DLSS support as it exits early access. These updates contribute to the growing list of hundreds of games currently benefiting from DLSS technology.
It’s worth noting that DLSS technology is not confined to PC gaming alone; rumors suggest that the next-generation Nintendo console will incorporate DLSS, demonstrating the broader impact of this technology in the gaming industry. Nintendo’s rumored successor to the Nintendo Switch is seen as an essential step to remain competitive in the upcoming gaming generation, given the technological advancements of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The incorporation of DLSS is seen as a significant step towards achieving that goal.
