Insta360 Go 2 Gets a Wireless Display for Better Live Preview

Insta360, known for its innovative action cameras, is set to release the next iteration of its popular Go series. The Insta360 Go 3 offers a range of improvements and surprises that elevate the action camera experience. With a larger, more rectangular “Action Pod” detachable body, the Go 3 adopts a more conventional action cam design, complete with a 2.2-inch flip touchscreen. This feature eliminates the need to constantly rely on a smartphone and provides users with a 2-in-1 action camera and wireless display.

The camera itself has undergone significant upgrades. Video resolution has been enhanced to 2.7k (2,720 x 1,536), offering improved image quality and allowing users to make the most of Insta360’s renowned “FlowState” video stabilization technology. Audio quality has been addressed by adding a second microphone, resolving a previous concern. Additionally, the camera is now certified as waterproof up to 5 meters, an improvement over its predecessor’s 4-meter rating. However, it’s worth noting that the “Action Pod” is only water-resistant (IPX4), so submerging it should be avoided.

Battery life has received a boost as well. The Go 3’s camera can now operate for 45 minutes at 1080p@30fps, while the combined battery life with the “Action Pod” reaches an impressive 170 minutes. Furthermore, Insta360 has improved the heat dissipation design, eliminating the previous limitation of 30-minute video clips. Users can now record for as long as the battery and data storage allow. To accommodate longer recording sessions, a new 128GB variant has been introduced, alongside the existing 64GB and 32GB options.

The Go 3 introduces three new video modes: pre-recording, loop recording, and timed capture. Timed capture is especially useful for setting up automated captures, such as sunrise shots, without the need to manually activate the camera.

Accessories remain an important part of the Insta360 Go experience. The Go 3 includes various mounting options, including a magnet pendant for first-person point-of-view shots, a clip mount for eye-level shots, and a pivot stand with a reusable sticky base. Quick release mounts for action sports and a monkey tail mount for versatile captures are also available. For dog owners, the “Fetch Stick” allows for entertaining close-ups of their pets.

The Insta360 Go 3 is now available for purchase through the official online store and Amazon. The camera is offered in three storage capacities: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, priced at $379.99, $399.99, and $429.99, respectively. With its enhanced features, improved battery life, and expanded video capabilities, the Go 3 aims to provide action camera enthusiasts with an exceptional recording experience.
