One of the most up and coming segments of technology is Auto Tech. With cars now moving towards a more digital platform, brands like Google and Apple have caught the wave and introduced their versions of an in-car OS. This OS runs all the digital tasks that you perform in your car, like playing the music, calling your friends or family, navigating to a particular destination, or just looking up the nearby coffee shop. The best part though is that these new Operating systems are derivatives of the popular mobile OS. In the case of Android, their version of the Auto Operating System is called ‘Android Auto’.
The Android Auto app, just like any other app on the Play Store, is subject to updates. However, if you are one of those users who prefer to manually update this app, then the solution is to turn off the Auto-Update feature.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to turn off Android Auto Update.
Step 1. Open the Play Store app on your smartphone.
Step 2. Tap on the ‘three-line‘ icon on the top left.
Step 3. Tap on the ‘Settings‘ option from the menu.
Step 4. Tap on the ‘Auto-Update apps‘ option from the settings menu.
Step 5. Select the ‘Don’t auto-update apps‘ option from the popup window.
Now, whenever you check for app updates, you will only see the update availability, and it’s up to you, what apps you want to update.
