Google I/O will take place on May 11th and 12th and will be streamed live online

Google I/O, the company’s annual developer conference, will be held May 11th and 12th, the company revealed Wednesday. The event will once again be entirely online, though it appears as though portions of the conference will be aired live from the Shoreline Amphitheatre, a frequent Google I/O location.

According to a FAQ, registration will be free and will begin later this month. There will be no tickets, which appears to imply that anyone who wishes to attend may do so.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Google I/O was postponed until 2021, when it was resurrected as an online event. At last year’s event, the firm made a number of significant announcements, including the premiere of Android 12’s “Material You” design, the release of upgrades to Google Workspace, and the revelation that Google’s Wear OS and Samsung’s Tizen will be merged into a single platform (now known as Wear OS 3).

No one knows what will be launched this year, but given that Google has already released the first preview of Android 13, it appears likely that the operating system will be one of the primary focus points.
