LG has announced its 2023 soundbar lineup ahead of the CES trade show. The SC9 and SE6 models will be showcased at the event and both will feature Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for a more immersive audio experience. While there are few details available at this time, LG has shared some of the key features that will be included in these soundbars.
LG has announced that the SC9 and SE6 soundbars will feature Wow Orchestra, a tool that enhances the audio experience by utilizing all of the soundbar’s channels to create a wider soundstage with improved height, depth, and power. This feature will be available via a software update after the launch of the soundbars. The SC9 and SE6 will also use Wowcast to connect wirelessly to LG TVs over WiFi, allowing users to access audio settings through the Home Dashboard on their TVs.
The SC9 and SE6 soundbars feature a Triple Sound Optimizer that enhances their performance and a Smart Up-mixer that converts stereo audio into multi-channel surround sound. LG’s AI Room Calibration adjusts the soundbars to their location, improving the low-end frequency range and dividing the front channels for improved balance, clearer vocals, and enhanced dialogue. These soundbars also have an AI Sound Pro feature that analyzes the content being played, such as movies, games, sports, or music, and automatically applies the optimal settings.
LG has designed the SC9 and SE6 soundbars with a minimalist aesthetic to blend in with a variety of home decor. The SC9 comes with a bracket that can be attached to LG’s 2022 and 2023 OLED C series TVs to reduce clutter. While the SE6 is compact in size, it still includes four passive radiators for strong bass and supports Dolby Atmos. According to LG, the SE6 is suitable for smaller spaces. The company did not provide further details on the differences between the two models.
LG has not indicated whether the SC9 or SE6 will come with a subwoofer or if they will be compatible with additional speakers for a full surround sound setup.
