CES 2024 – Jabra Unveils Quick Listening Mode Toggles for Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active Earbuds

Jabra made some big announcements at CES 2024 about upcoming updates for their new Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active wireless earbuds that launched late last year. The updates, rolling out in two phases over the next couple months, include improvements to things like switching between listening modes, call clarity, and performance in windy conditions.

The first round of updates coming this month will add a simple on/off toggle to quickly turn on or off Jabra’s Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, HearThrough mode (letting you hear your surroundings while listening to music), and Sidetone (how loud you hear your own voice). Jabra’s January update will also finally let you customize the name of your earbuds in the app – something competing brands often have at launch. These new features will hit both the Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active.

Then Jabra says its March updates will optimize call clarity specifically for the Elite 10. They claim their latest noise cancellation tech is better at identifying and reducing background voices when you’re on calls with the earbuds. And for the Elite 8 Active, enhanced wind detection algorithms should improve HearThrough mode (similar to Transparency on AirPods) in windy weather. Of course audio companies love to hype up call quality and wind resistance, so we’ll need some hands-on testing before fully endorsing Jabra’s claims.

The two waves of upgrades will come through the Jabra Sound+ app. The Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active are already available for $250 and $200.
