Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake Confirmed, Set for 2024 Release

The Game Awards 2023 blasted off with a hugely exciting announcement – a full remake of the beloved 2013 indie adventure, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

For the uninitiated, Brothers follows two siblings on a magical yet heartwrenching quest to find a legendary healing water to cure their ailing father. Players must guide both brothers in tandem, leaning on each other’s strengths to overcome obstacles no one could face alone. As the game’s original Steam synopsis poetically states: “One must be strong where the other is weak, brave where the other is fearful, they must be…Brothers.”

This emotional co-op journey first released just over a decade ago to critical acclaim. Now, the remake will launch on February 28, 2024 for modern consoles and PC, timed to Brothers’ 10-year anniversary. Fans can wishlist it now.

And the exciting reveals didn’t stop there. Viewers also got first looks at Windblown, a roguelite from critically acclaimed Dead Cells developer Motion Twin, and Big Walk, an intriguing new title from Untitled Goose Game studio House House.

When the dust settled, however, the night’s biggest winner was Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3, snagging Game of the Year plus four other awards on the back of its ambitious fantasy world and rich RPG systems. Rightfully so – it blew us away upon early access release, feeling like a love letter to lifelong D&D fans.

Speaking of early access…we knew Baldur’s Gate 3 would finally get an Xbox launch date, but turns out it’s out RIGHT NOW on Series X|S! No need to wishlist, just start downloading this instant classic ASAP.

Between a Brothers remake and shock Baldur’s Gate console drop, The Game Awards 2023 clearly came to play. And if these surprises are any indicator, the future of gaming looks brighter than ever.
