An actor claiming to be involved in the filming of the next Call of Duty game, titled Call of Duty 2024, has seemingly leaked and hinted at some game details in a Facebook post. Luke Charles Stafford, whose likeness is allegedly being used for the game’s main character, shared images and videos on social media that show him in a filming or scanning booth.
Stafford’s post stated, “Activision decided to adapt their next main character, ‘Ratcliffe,’ for Call of Duty off my face/likeness, and I am elated. To all of my college roommates back at Anderson University and those years in Smith Hall Playing Black Ops 2… Next year, we can beat the snot out of each other again, but I want to play as me.”
The mention of Black Ops 2 in Stafford’s post, combined with rumours that the next Call of Duty game was codenamed ‘Cerberus’ and being developed by Treyarch, suggests that Call of Duty 2024 could mark a return to the Black Ops subseries. This possibility is likely to excite fans. Additionally, the name ‘Ratcliffe’ mentioned by Stafford may have real-life inspiration from Peter Ratcliffe, a former British soldier who served in the SAS for nearly 30 years.
While speculation continues to circulate about this year’s Call of Duty game, expected to be revealed as Modern Warfare 3, having insights into not only the upcoming release but also the next two instalments is an exciting prospect for fans and dedicated players of the franchise.
