Acer’s New Chromebook Spin 714 Comes with High-Resolution 2K Webcam for Better Video Calls

Acer has announced a refresh of its premium Chromebook Spin 714 model as part of its latest wave of PC news. The updated device follows the same slim, lightweight and powerful design as its predecessor, but is now available with Intel’s latest 13th-generation Core processors. Users can choose between the i3-1315U, i5-1335U or i7-1355U processors, while a high-end version with Intel’s vPro platform and an i7-1365U processor is aimed at enterprise use. The device can also offer up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, delivering more power than most ChromeOS tasks require.

One standout change is the inclusion of a “QHD 2K” camera in the Spin 714, highlighting the increasing need for quality webcams as remote work continues. The 14-inch touchscreen display comes with a 360-degree hinge, allowing the device to be used in tablet mode, while the USI stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure and tilt sensitivity makes it an attractive option for digital artists.

The laptop retains the durable anodized aluminum chassis of the previous model, meeting US MIL-STD 810 durability standards. A fingerprint sensor is included for added security, while the battery is expected to last around 10 hours. The Chromebook Spin 714 starts at $699 and will be available in North America from May, before being released in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from July.
