“Get Ready to Save Humanity as ‘Humanity’ Joins PS Plus Lineup on May 16th

The highly-anticipated release of Humanity, a unique blend of platformer and puzzle game, has finally been announced for May 16th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam platforms, with virtual reality support on all platforms. Developed by Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s Enhance studio, Humanity has been in development for some time, with its first teaser unveiled in 2019, and was originally set to launch the following year. However, the delay gave Enhance an opportunity to create versions of the game for PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 as well.

Players will control a glowing, nameless character named Shina Ibu and lead crowds of people to safety by placing commands on the ground, such as turning, jumping, floating, swimming, and climbing. Humanity features a story mode that comprises over 90 levels, including boss battles, as well as a level creation and sharing system for players to enjoy.

In an homage to early PlayStation ads, Enhance announced the release date for Humanity, which will be included in the PS Plus Game Catalog on its launch day. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to play the game at no extra cost. According to Enhance’s executive producer Mark MacDonald, the decision to bring Humanity to the PS Plus Game Catalog on launch day was to ensure it reaches a large number of players right away. Many games that debuted on the base PS Plus Essential tier in the past quickly gained a sizable audience, including Rocket League and Fall Guys, with Meet Your Maker being the most recent game to launch on the Essential tier on its release day.

Humanity’s innovative gameplay, combined with its inclusion in the PS Plus Game Catalog, makes it a game worth checking out for gamers looking for an exciting and fresh experience.
