Acer expands the use of 13th-gen Intel chips to its gaming laptop lineup

As the world eagerly anticipates the latest chip generation, computer manufacturers must update their existing hardware to remain competitive. Acer has now unveiled four new gaming laptops that will run on Intel and NVIDIA’s latest silicon. The new range-topping Predator Triton 17 X features NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 GPU and Intel’s Core i9-13900HX processor. The laptop also comes with up to 64GB RAM and up to 4TB of SSD storage. The base model of the Triton 17 X will cost $3,799 and is set to arrive next month.

The Predator Helios Neo 16 is another new addition to Acer’s gaming laptop range. The laptop comes with a choice of either a Core i5-13500HX or a Core i7-13700HX processor. Buyers can choose from three GPU options, including the RTX 4050 with 6GB RAM, or the 4060 or 4070, both with 8GB of dedicated RAM. The Helios Neo 16 can also be customized with up to 32GB RAM, up to 2TB of SSD storage, and a 1,920 x 1,200 or 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The laptop is set to arrive in May, with the base model priced at $1,199.

For gamers who prefer a smaller device, the Triton 14 offers similar power in a more compact form factor. The laptop is capable of handling a Core i7-13700H processor and the choice of an RTX 4050 with 6GB RAM or a 4070 with 8GB RAM. The laptop comes with up to 32GB RAM and the option for a 2,560 x 1,600, 250Hz mini-LED display with a peak brightness of 600 nits. The Triton 14 will debut in the US in May, with the base model priced at $1,499.

Lastly, the Predator Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition features Acer’s glasses-free 3D display technology. The laptop can be ordered with Intel’s Core i9-13900HX processor, an RTX 4080 GPU, and 32GB RAM. The Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition is set to arrive in the US in June, with a minimum spend of $3,499. However, potential buyers should be aware of the limitations of the glasses-free display, as noted in a review by Acer’s Devindra Hardawar.
