A crossover between Destiny 2 and Fortnite has been leaked ahead of a Bungie event

Bungie appears to be working on adding Fortnite skins to Destiny 2. After Fortnite leaker MidaRado hinted at a Destiny 2 collaboration over the weekend, Ginsor — a well-known Destiny dataminer — has confirmed the crossover with an image of several classic Fortnite skins in Destiny 2.

The image, which was most likely obtained from Bungie’s own website, shows a Titan armor set that resembles the Black Knight skin that was previously available through the Fortnite season 2 season pass. Destiny’s Warlock is also shown wearing a Fortnite-style Drift Mask, and the Hunter resembles Fortnite’s Omega skin.

It’s unclear how Destiny 2 players will obtain these Fortnite skins or when they’ll be available. The Fortnite skins are likely to be universal ornaments in Destiny 2, allowing players to apply them to any armor sets and customize characters. Rumors also suggest that Fortnite may receive its own Destiny skins, and there are numerous characters that Bungie could potentially place within the Fortnite world.

Bungie hasn’t added crossover content to Destiny 2 for the first time. Bungie celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special content drop in Destiny 2 that included Halo-like guns. The 30th Anniversary pack for Destiny 2, released late last year, included a Magnum-like sidearm in the looter shooter, as well as a Battle Rifle-like pulse rifle.

This Fortnite crossover leak comes just days before Bungie is set to reveal Destiny 2 season 18 and the franchise’s next major expansion, Lightfall. Bungie has planned a Destiny 2 showcase for Tuesday, August 23rd at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET. It’s the first major Destiny 2 showcase since Sony paid $3.7 billion for Bungie earlier this year.
