Hero Esports organized the King Pro League 2025 (KPL) Grand Finals at Beijing’s National Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest. The tournament was hosted by Tencent and focused on Honor of Kings, a mobile multiplayer online battle arena game. The event drew 62,196 fans to the stadium, a figure recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest attendance at a single esports event.
The KPL Grand Finals sold out rapidly, with tickets purchased within 12 seconds of release. A majority of attendees traveled from outside Beijing, with visitors reported from other regions of China and from countries including Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia.
Hero Esports organized the live broadcast and stage production for the finals. The venue setup included large screens and audiovisual technology designed to support an esports audience of this scale. The opening ceremony incorporated cultural performance elements and augmented reality visuals.
Honor of Kings is developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group and is among the most played mobile games worldwide. The KPL serves as its professional league in China. Attendance figures for the 2025 finals exceeded those of previous iterations of the event.
