Meaning – The word ‘Boot’ refers to the process of preparing the computer to aperform the desired taks, by turning it on. The BIOS on every computer is responsible for handling the boot process on each PC.
There are two different ways to boot a PC – Boot in normal mode and Booting into Recovery mode. The latter is used when you are facing issues with your PC and you need to reinstall the OS or run a diagnostic.
The word boot can also be used to mean the process of loading an operating system on the PC.
Example of Usage – “The first thing that the gamer had to do, before staring the streaming session, was to boot his PC.”
