In a bid to inspire photographers across the UAE to capture the beauty and essence of old Dubai, Photowalk Dubai has organized the Dubai edition of the 500px Worldwide Photowalk on September 21st, in association with renowned global photo-sharing website, 500px, and global image solutions provider, Nikon.
The three-hour event will encourage participants to explore the Dubai Fish Market, the adjoining Gold Souq areas and streets of Deira for unique photo opportunities that tell the untold tales of Dubai. The top three photographers from the session also stand to win prizes from Photowalk Dubai and 500px.
Co-founder of Photowalk Dubai Subodh Shetty comments: “This is a great opportunity for enthusiastic photographers of all levels in Dubai to come together and share their love of photography. The response to our previous events has been massive, and we are expecting a similar turnout this time around.”
Shetty started Photowalk Dubai with his photographer friend Anjum Vahanvati with the aim of inspiring photographers in Dubai to ‘Shoot, Share, Learn’. But what separates them from other groups? According to Shetty, Photowalk Dubai actively brings passionate photographers together to gain inspiration and constructive critique from one another. This is something he felt was lacking amongst other groups and hoped that Photowalk Dubai would fill this gap.
Recently, Photowalk Dubai caught the interest of Nikon, who is now a strong supporter of the group aiming to provide select group photographers with seminars and training at no cost.

We also needed a platform to conduct our events on a bigger scale and partnering with Nikon lets us get there.”
This is a subject close to Shetty’s heart.
“One of Photowalk Dubai’s main goals is for every member to acquire skills that make him/her a better photographer and gain more confidence in their skills. Nikon’s involvement on this front will help nurture and develop the skills of our photographers, and strengthen industry standards.”
