World’s Smallest Electric Scooter: Riley Scooters Introduces RS3 for Effortless Commutes, US Launch Set for April 2024

The world’s smallest, most portable electric scooter is set to hit US streets this April. Cambridge-based Riley Scooters unveiled their innovative new RS3 model at CES 2024.

As described by founder Hayden Riley, the RS3 is the first high-quality scooter designed specifically for easy folding and storage. With commuters and urban dwellers in mind, they engineered the RS3 to stow conveniently in tight spaces like car trunks, elevators, and public transit.

Two years in development, the slim 16kg RS3 folds down in seconds into a compact size. It packs features like a 350W motor, 25km range, E-ABS braking, LED lights, and a removable battery into a petite but durable aluminum frame. An app even allows monitoring and customization.

Riley focused extensively on real-world commuter needs over nine months of stress testing. The ability to quickly collapse the RS3 and take the battery along makes it uniquely tailored for crowded commutes with storage hurdles.

After launching in the UK and across Europe and Australia, Riley Scooters is prepping for US sales this spring. Riley acknowledges e-scooter regulations remain inconsistent but sees massive global demand for compact models like the RS3.

Though banned in some areas, Riley believes slim, folding e-scooters like theirs have tremendous commuter appeal if made street legal. The RS3’s size and portability specifically help it comply with dimensions limits.

By putting convenience and portability first, Riley Scooters is poised to become a commuter favorite. The lightweight RS3 simplifies stowing an e-scooter out of the way during crowded commutes and multi-modal trips.

Riley said the RS3 is “perfect for commuters” thanks to its hassle-free folding and storage. As e-scooters gain acceptance worldwide, the RS3’s launch puts commuter-friendly design front and center. The scooter commute just got a whole lot easier.
