Valve stepping up its game. They’ve heard the complaints, and they’re rolling out the Steam Deck OLED. Set to launch on November 16, this bad boy features a more vibrant OLED screen, a 30-50% bigger battery, and Wi-Fi 6E support for up to 3 times faster game downloads. Under the hood, there are also “updated thermals” to keep things cool during those intense gaming sessions.
But that’s not all. The Steam Deck carrying case got a makeover too, with a removable liner for a thinner and lighter way to protect your system. Two major models are on the horizon – the $549 / £479 512GB model and the $649 / £569 1TB model. If you’re feeling fancy, there’s a premium limited edition for $679, but it’s only available in limited quantities exclusively in the US and Canada.
As for the older LCD model, it’s not forgotten. It’s now more budget-friendly at $399 / £349 for the 256GB model. A smart move for those who want to save some cash. Just note, the 64GB and 512GB configurations are out of the picture – discontinued. So, if you’re eyeing those discounted prices on the Steam Store, grab ’em while you can because they won’t be restocking. It’s a game-changer, literally.
