IK Multimedia is launching the Uno Synth Pro X, an updated version of its well-regarded Uno Synth Pro flagship keyboard. The Pro X retains the three-oscillator paraphonic design of the original but brings in new features to make it stand out. The synth includes an entirely new layout and a unique sound engine, accompanied by new effects such as true analog overdrive, shimmer reverb, and a Uni-Vibe pedal-inspired vibrato/chorus. With over ten studio-quality effects that can be stacked for sound design flexibility, the Pro X offers a wide range of sonic possibilities.
The Pro X boasts a dual-filter design and three-oscillator sound engine, providing even more creative potential. There are 256 preset slots to save your creations, ensuring you can store and access your preferred sounds easily. Additionally, the synth features a 64-step paraphonic sequencer with step and real-time recording options, along with a 10-mode arpeggiator that includes a new bassline mode.
One notable change from the original Uno Synth Pro is its portability. The Pro X is incredibly light, weighing less than a kilogram, making it ideal for on-the-go music-making. However, it sacrifices an actual keybed in favor of integrated multi-function buttons or MIDI keyboard connectivity. Despite this trade-off, the Pro X offers a wide range of hands-on control options compared to its predecessor.
In terms of connectivity, the Uno Synth Pro X offers a wealth of options, including USB-C, 5-pin DIN MIDI, balanced stereo outputs, and a dedicated stereo headphone out. This allows easy integration with other synthesizers, effects processors, DAWs, and more. When connected to a computer, users can access the expanded sound editor within their preferred DAW for further adjustments.
