The Switch version of ‘Alan Wake Remastered’ is now available

Alan Wake has been restored and is now available on the Nintendo eShop, just in time for Halloween. It was first published in October 2021 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox X|S. However, Remedy Entertainment’s creative director Sam Lake stated in May of this year that the cult favorite would also be coming to the Switch. Alan Wake Remastered with all DLCs costs $30 / €30 / £25 on the eShop, but it’s now available with a 20% launch discount.

The game is a story-driven action adventure about a thriller author whose wife goes missing while on vacation in a small village. He loses consciousness while seeing his wife being pulled into the water by an unseen force and does not regain consciousness until a week later. Wake then discovers a book he seems to have authored but has no recollection of, detailing events that were about to occur. Such as citizens being abducted or possessed by otherworldly powers.

The horror game will only be available as a digital download for the Switch, and the developer has said that physical copies will not be accessible for the platform. The remedy is also working on a sequel to the game, which will be published in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The developer has yet to unveil the specific narrative, but it did share a teaser late last year that shows the sequel’s ominous surroundings.
