When it comes to mirrorless cameras, Sony is a pioneer, and now, the Japanese tech giant has launched an all-new mirrorless camera that features a global shutter. The Sony A9 III will offer pro photographers the power to take a burst of continuous photos at full quality, clocking at a stunning 120fps for 24.6MP raw and JPEG photos.
One of the advantages of a global shutters is that there are no blackouts while taking a burst shot. What this means is that all of the sensors pixels are simultaneously read, eliminating the rolling shutter that you may suffer with regular cameras.
In simple terms, when you take this camera to say, a formula one race, and you want to capture a shot of your favourite car, ripping the track at full speed, the first thing you will do is take a burst shot. With the global shutter, each photo of the burst shot will be captured at full quality, and with the rolling shutter eliminated, there are no distortions, and you end up getting a crisp shot. With so much power, there are some limitations.
The burst shot that you can take with this global shutter is limited to 1.6 seconds, but since there is a 759-point autofocus, so you get stellar subject detection, auto exposure, and auto exposure.
The Sony A9 III is a definite upgrade over its predecessor, and we can’t wait to see how pro and enthusiasts use this new camera to craft their masterpieces.
