Gameloft has announced that their mobile game The Oregon Trail will be released for Nintendo Switch and PC at the end of November. The Oregon Trail was previously launched on Apple Arcade by Gameloft in 2021, but this is the first time the game will be available to non-Apple users.
In 1971, a middle school teacher called Don Rawitsch invented The Oregon Trail for use in his classroom, but it rapidly evolved beyond that when he was recruited by a business that manufactured instructional software. The game swiftly expanded to schools around the United States via that firm and became somewhat of a cultural phenomenon, generating spoof games and lots of memes. Gameloft released it’s initial The Oregon Trail mobile game in 2009, which was rapidly followed by sequels in the years that followed.
