The Backbone One mobile gamepad is now compatible with Android devices

The wait is finally over. One of the greatest mobile gamepads available is now compatible with Android phones. The Backbone One for Android is now available for purchase on the company’s website and select stores. At $100, it’s comparable to choices like the Razer Kishi, but the Backbone One offers a few advantages over more budget controllers.

To begin, it has an innovative design that includes a USB-C passthrough for charging as well as a 3.5mm audio connection. If you’ve ever used an Xbox controller, you’ll feel right at home with the Backbone One’s asymmetrical stick configuration and regular A, B, X, and Y button arrangement. A PlayStation version of the controller for Android phones isn’t currently available, although Backbone previously reported that it was working on a USB-C edition when it announced its partnership with Sony. The new Android version retains the company’s outstanding companion app. The app makes it simple to capture and share screenshots and video clips from your games. It also makes it easier to locate games that are compatible with the controller.

The Backbone One works with “most” Android phones. You may need to remove your phone from its cover to guarantee a tight fit, like with the iPhone version. If you pre-ordered the Backbone One for Android before November 1st, the business promises to ship it before the end of the month. All purchases include a one-month Google Play Pass trial.
