Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test Announced: 19 Playable Characters Including Newcomer Feng Wei, Cross-Platform Play, and Limited Code Distribution

Exciting news for fighting game fans as Tekken 8 prepares to launch its closed beta test next month, giving players the opportunity to test their skills with 19 playable characters, including the recently revealed fighter, Feng Wei.

The closed beta test will be accessible on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, beginning on Friday, October 20 at 4am ET. It’s noteworthy that this date coincides with the release of both Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, promising an action-packed gaming weekend for enthusiasts. However, Tekken 8’s closed beta runs for a more limited timeframe, concluding on Monday, October 23 at 3am ET.

Interested players can already register on the official Tekken 8 website. It’s essential to bear in mind that not all registrants will receive access. The distribution of codes will follow a first-come, first-served basis. Approximately 182,000 codes will be distributed, with 80,000 designated for PS5 users, 85,000 for PC players, and 17,000 for Xbox Series X|S owners. Participants who joined the closed network test in July will automatically gain access and won’t need to reapply.

Participants fortunate enough to secure a spot in the closed beta will have the opportunity to experience online play, including cross-platform gameplay, and explore the Tekken Fight Lounge, which offers access to the Battle Area and Customization Shop.

The roster of playable characters for the closed beta includes Claudio, Azucena, Raven, Feng, Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack-8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Lili, Asuka, Hwoarang, and Bryan.

Registration is open starting from today, September 19, and will continue until Wednesday, October 11 at 3am ET. Each applicant is limited to one entry, and it’s important to note that progress made during the closed beta cannot be transferred to the full game, which is set to launch on January 26, 2024. Fighting game enthusiasts should mark their calendars and seize this opportunity to get a taste of Tekken 8 ahead of its official release.
