Super Mario Bros. Wonder Update: Nintendo Confirms Charles Martinet’s Exclusion

Nintendo has officially confirmed that Charles Martinet, the iconic voice of Mario, will not be involved in the production of the upcoming game Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Martinet recently announced his retirement as the voice of Mario, marking the end of his longstanding association with the character.

Nintendo stated that Martinet will not appear in Super Mario Bros. Wonder or any future titles. Instead, he will serve as a Mario ambassador and will appear with legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto in a future video to bid farewell to the role.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is scheduled to be released on October 20, 2023, and will be playable on the Nintendo Switch. The game was first announced in a Nintendo Direct presentation in June.

The game offers a side-scrolling Mario adventure with new features, including the “wonder flower” that adds various creative possibilities to gameplay. Players can expect familiar Mario elements like clouds, pipes, and lava, along with new surprises.

While specific details about the game are limited, it’s expected to offer multiplayer co-op gameplay with a variety of Mario characters available for players to choose from. More information about Super Mario Bros. Wonder may be revealed as the release date approaches.
