When Stellantis unveiled the Ram 1500 Revolution prototype in January, he stated that it will serve as a design pattern for Ram’s first electric truck. More than a month later, Stellantis has released the first images of the 2024 Ram 1500 REV, and the pre-production vehicle resembles its gas-guzzling forebears rather than the futuristic idea we saw at CES 2023.
To begin, the 2024 model lacks the prototype’s “brutal” design. Stellantis has taken the safe route, as Ford did with the F-150 Lightning. The Ram 1500 REV has more modern-looking front and rear-facing lighting, but that’s about all that distinguishes it from any other Ram now on the market. The vehicle’s interior is likewise more conservative. It lacks the futuristic edge that was evident in the Revolution. According to the photographs Stellantis supplied, the final edition will also lack several of the more bizarre features that the manufacturer managed to squeeze into the Ram 1500 REV concept. The new car does, however, include a boot, so there’s that.
A $100 payment is required to reserve a pre-order slot for the 2024 Ram 1500 REV on the Ram website. With deliveries not set to begin until late next year, you have plenty of time to wait for Stellantis to disclose additional details before making a choice on the EV. Nevertheless, the company’s Super Bowl ad for the Ram 1500 REV, which will show later today, is very entertaining and definitely worth seeing even if you don’t want to purchase a large electric truck.
