Stellantis is gearing up to make a significant impact in the world of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) with its newly announced business unit, Stellantis Pro One. Comprising six prominent brands – Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall – Stellantis Pro One aims to redefine the LCV sector with a diverse range of offerings.
This strategic move sets the stage for a significant event known as the “Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day,” scheduled for October 23. During this event, Stellantis Pro One will unveil a comprehensive lineup of vans for all six brands. While specific details are yet to be disclosed, there’s anticipation surrounding the updated Fiat Ducato, which has recently been spotted testing. The Ducato will serve as the foundation for a range of rebadged models, including the Ram ProMaster, Opel Movano, Vauxhall Movano, Peugeot Boxer, and Citroën Jumper. The electric version of the Ram ProMaster is set to be officially introduced later this year.
One of the most exciting aspects of Stellantis Pro One’s plans is the introduction of four electrified pickup trucks within the next two years. Among these, the Ram 1500 REV stands out as a notable addition, alongside a hydrogen-powered pickup. These pickups will be part of a revamped van and truck lineup in North America that will be gradually introduced in the coming years. Stellantis Pro One is dedicated to delivering a more sustainable lineup, with a second-generation electric drivetrain that offers extended range and the utilization of hydrogen fuel cell technology.
For Stellantis, the LCV sector holds immense significance, contributing to a third of its net revenues. The company sold an impressive 1.6 million LCV units last year. Stellantis Pro One aims to strengthen its position in this market, with LCV Chief Jean-Philippe Imparato emphasizing the brand’s determination to compete with the likes of Ford Pro. Imparato revealed plans to renew the compact van models, including the Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Doblo, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo, and Vauxhall Combo, in 2024. Additionally, the midsize Opel Vivaro, Vauxhall Vivaro, Peugeot Expert, and Fiat Scudo are also set to receive updates, bolstering Stellantis’ presence in the competitive LCV segment.
Stellantis Pro One is set to transform the landscape of light commercial vehicles, offering customers a wide array of options under one umbrella. With its forward-thinking approach and a commitment to sustainability, the future of LCVs looks promising with Stellantis at the helm.
Stay tuned for the “Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day” on October 23, where Stellantis Pro One will unveil its vision for the future of LCVs.
