Sonos has been a brand that is on the rise. Not only have they introduced a host of home audio equipment that give you a bang for your buck, they have also been very aggressive in their pricing, making their product a very compelling consideration for those looking for home audio equipment that doesn’t burn a hole into the wallet.
Recently, there was news doing the rounds that they are preparing to release their new headphones, but that should be somewhere around 2024 or 2025. But, that is not all, the company has come forward with some more updates on upcoming products, and by the looks of things, we may just be seeing a bit of a transition from the brand.
A bulletin from Sonos points towards a set-top box that is touted to be a rival for Roku and Apple TV. Next, there will be an update to the Sonos Era 100, followed by a brand new generation of Sonos Roam. We will then see a new Sub device that it supposed to sit next to the Sub Mini, a new range of in-ceiling speakers, and a flagship grade soundbar.
Coming to the Soundbar, there are multiple reports coming out that Sonos is indeed working on a brand new flagship soundbar device. Codenamed ‘Lasso’, this soundbar is supposedly going to feature richer bass and improved audio quality. The same reports are indicating that the ‘Lasso’ soundbar will be priced at $1200, which is a significant jump up on the $899 that Sonos charges today for its stand alone soundbar, known as the Sonos Arc.
The final bit in the bulletin talks about a high end amplifier that Sonos is working on. However, this amplifier, which play a significant role in home theatre systems, is set to be priced at a whopping $3000, which will make it an ultra-premium offering. Now, Sonos is not a brand that has gone ultra premium in the past, so it remains to be seen how much acceptance they will get with their new lineup of products
