According to a Reddit post by Bigcarts, sniper rifles are currently ineffective. In first-person shooters, sniper rifles are primarily long-range weapons that can knock down an adversary with one headshot or two to three body shots. Long-range play may be quite rewarding, especially when a well-placed sniper fire results in an instant kill. That’s presumably why Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players are so frustrated that none of the game’s bolt-action sniper weapons can kill someone with a single headshot. This is especially aggravating since one of Warzone 2’s strongest weapons is an SMG.
Firearms are obviously one of the pillars of a successful first-person shooter game. Making sure the weapon meta doesn’t become too stale is important, but so is making sure the weapons feel pleasurable to use. Players want to be able to employ weapons that are appropriate for their playstyle, effective, and enjoyable to use. With that in mind, bolt-action sniper rifles with a nearly glacial rate of fire should reward players in Warzone 2 for nailing those stunning sniper headshots.
