The Garmin Venu 3 has already demonstrated how potent it is in the wearable market, and now, it seems that the company is all set to give it another capability, and this time, it is skin temperature sensing. In the Q4 beta, it was noticed that Garmin had added in skin temperature sensing into the Venu 3.
Now, before you start saying that it is just a gimmick, you will be surprised to know that the Garmin Venu 3 shipped with all the sensors required for skin temperature sensing, it was just that Garmin had not prepared the feature yet. This would be something of a 3000 IQ move considering how far ahead Garmin had thought out while making the Venu 3 smartwatch.
Now, the Apple Watch Series 9 does come with the ability to measure the skin temperature of the wearer while they sleep, so there are players in the market with this feature, but it looks like Garmin is going to give users a full fledged experience. Now, for those of you who are unaware, the skin temperature sensing feature is a useful metric. A rising body temperature could indicate the onset of a fever or an infection. Prevention is better than cure after all.
The public beta that has been released does not include the skin temperature sensing feature, but the fact that it has been mentioned means that the feature will make an appearance at some point.
