Sega has announced the whole list of Sega Genesis and Sega CD games coming to the Sega Genesis Mini 2, with Night Trap being one of the more famous titles on the list.
Night Trap is a full-motion video game from 1992 that captures the feel of a B-movie horror film. It was deemed violent enough at the time that it was included in a Senate hearing on violent games, which led to the establishment of the Entertainment Software Rating Board. It was likewise removed from sale at Toys R Us. In 2017, the game received a 25th-anniversary edition, and a port of the original Sega CD version will be available on the Sega Genesis Mini 2.
If you’re a longtime Sega fan or have been looking for a cause to play any of the company’s older games you may have missed, there are plenty of other titles to check out. Sonic fans will be pleased to see Sonic CD and Sonic 3D Blast on the list while fighting game fans will enjoy titles such as Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers and ClayFighter. The Genesis Mini 2 will also include several previously unreleased games, such as Devi & Pii and Star Mobile. The whole list may be seen in the Sega video attached at the top of this piece.
The Sega Genesis Mini 2 will be launched on October 27th and is already available for presale on Amazon for $99.99. That’s a touch less than the initial $103.80 pricing, and it looks like if you’ve already placed a purchase, you’ll have to cancel and reorder to obtain the cheaper price. If you want one, you should preorder it as soon as possible since Sega believes the Genesis Mini 2 will be in fewer quantities in North America than the original Genesis Mini.
