Samsung is once again demonstrating its affinity for the Pokémon franchise with the introduction of its new Pokémon Packs. The South Korean conglomerate has unveiled three new Galaxy Buds 2 cases inspired by Jigglypuff, Ditto, and Snorlax. These adorable cases come with corresponding stickers and are available with a choice of the Galaxy Buds 2 for KRW 129,000 ($99) or the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro for KRW 199,000 ($152).
This latest release follows Samsung’s initial foray into Pokémon-themed products, which featured Poké Ball cases for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and standard edition headphones in May 2022. The limited edition Poké Ball cases sold out within just one hour, underscoring the immense popularity of these crossover products. Similarly, the Pokémon edition of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable smartphone experienced overwhelming demand, with the KRW 1,280,000 ($979) device selling out within minutes.
Prior to the Pokémon Packs, Samsung had previously treated its Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone to the Pokémon treatment. The Galaxy Watch 5 featured a Poké Ball-covered watch strap, while the Galaxy Z Flip 4 received a Poké Ball-themed phone case. These collaborations between Samsung and Pokémon have consistently generated excitement among fans.
Unfortunately, the Jigglypuff, Ditto, and Snorlax cases are currently only available in Samsung’s home market of South Korea. However, given the popularity of these Pokémon-themed products, it is likely that they will soon find their way onto platforms like eBay for international fans to acquire.
Samsung’s ongoing commitment to creating Pokémon-inspired merchandise reflects the widespread global appeal of the beloved franchise. By merging technology and popular culture, the company continues to captivate consumers and strengthen its bond with Pokémon enthusiasts worldwide.
