Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Rumored to Feature 4K Video at 120fps, Setting a New Standard for Smartphone Videography

Get ready for some ultra-smooth video recording on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, according to the latest rumors.

Renowned leaker Ice Universe says the S24 Ultra is testing out 4K resolution video at a whopping 120 frames per second. Dang – that’s some buttery footage!

For comparison, the current S23 Ultra maxes out at 4K/60fps. Other flagships like the iPhone 15 Pro and Google Pixel 8 Pro share the same limitation.

While not exactly new – some Sony and OnePlus phones already shoot 4K/120fps – it would be a first for Samsung’s Ultra series and top Apple and Google phones.

Samsung has teased new video capture tech coming to its next camera sensors. This leak suggests the S24 Ultra will really crank quality to the max.

The 200MP main camera resolution probably won’t change between the S23 and S24. But reports say the underlying sensor tech will get an upgrade for faster processing.

Combine that with the blazing fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and the S24 Ultra may have the brute force for silky 4K/120fps. Just make sure to have ample storage for those massive videos!

The Ultra model is expected to launch alongside two other S24 models later this month. January 17 is pegged as the big reveal day.

Other rumored upgrades include plenty of AI smarts for the camera. But if the S24 Ultra delivers 4K video as smooth as butter, it could be the king of smartphone videography.

Those flagship specs don’t come cheap though. We’ll see if the Ultra lives up to the hype – and justifies what’s likely a sky-high price tag. For now, I’m dreaming about recording ridiculously cinematic 4K footage right from my phone!
