Aside from the many adjustments made to several of Overwatch 2’s characters, some of the most important improvements to Blizzard’s massively popular online shooter include changes to the way cosmetic items are obtained. While the previous game enabled players to collect randomised cosmetics from free loot boxes obtained by levelling up, the sequel has abolished both the loot box and level features. Instead, fans must now buy individual cosmetic items or packages for Overwatch Coins, which can be purchased with real money or earned in very modest quantities by completing weekly tasks. Cosmetic goods are also accessible via the newly introduced battle pass system, however, the majority of them are only available through the paid premium pass.
