Opera has officially launched its Opera One browser for iOS, featuring artificial intelligence and an updated design after a period of beta testing. This browser for iPhone boasts a clean, minimalist design similar to its desktop version and offers a full-screen browsing experience by hiding unnecessary elements. For example, the top and bottom panels vanish while scrolling.
The search bar is positioned at the bottom of the screen and provides quick suggestions as you type. It also integrates the Aria AI assistant, which can be activated with a new “swipe to search” gesture. This function is similar to the Spotlight search on the iPhone home screen. While the search bar is the default option, users can switch to a traditional navigation style or use quick action buttons if preferred.
Aria AI enhances the browsing experience by helping with web searches, generating text, and creating images. Users can issue voice commands to Aria, making it easier to interact with the browser while on the move or in hands-free situations. Additionally, Aria utilizes Google’s Imagen2 model to generate images based on text descriptions.
The new Opera One browser also features a homepage carousel that includes news, real-time updates, and tips without overwhelming the user interface. Built-in tools include an ad blocker, a free VPN service, and various options for theme customization.
