Uncle From Another World has had some issues with its anime translation this year, with the studio behind the production declaring a halt in the current season, which means fans will have to wait until the end of next month for the Isekai to resume. Despite this, the series has had an official crossover with the video game firm Sega to help promote the “Sega Mega Drive Mini 2” by developing a new manga that merges the two worlds together in beautiful form.
If you’ve been following the Isekai series, you’ll know that the titular “Uncle” hasn’t been shy about his love of all things Sega, regularly taking the chance to play ancient Sega games despite having god-like skills at his disposal. Sega has appeared several times in the franchise’s tale, most notably when the Uncle recovers from his coma and instantly wonders if Sega is still developing video games and the Isekai protagonist encounters a large hedgehog creature that he initially mistook for Sega’s mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog.

The special manga may be seen below, in which Uncle takes advantage of the chance to plunge into the new Sega console, which combines a number of earlier Genesis games into a single device, similar to the previous Super Nintendo Classic Edition.
If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to plunge into this fairly unique Isekai series, Yen Press, the publishers of Uncle From Another World’s manga, has provided an official description:
“Takafumi’s uncle went into a coma seventeen years ago, yet he has risen from the dead. Takafumi soon finds two strange things: his uncle loves video games more than anything else, and while unconscious, he was really moved to another realm as some heroic protector! Takafumi now not only has to share a room with a magical uncle, but he also has to catch up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, current anime tropes…and the devastating end of the ’90s console war!”
