The latest Dead by Daylight update confirms the arrival of a “much-anticipated feature.”

At debut, Dead by Daylight Mobile had one feature that the original Dead by Daylight lacked: bots. When these player stand-ins were released, they looked like a solid enough concept for the mobile game, and gamers began to wonder whether bots might ever appear in Dead by Daylight. Behavior Interactive previously warned us that, like everything else, it was a possibility, and in the latest dev update from the developers, Behavior revealed that bots will certainly be arriving to custom matches in the November 6.4 release.

Bots were previously known to be on their way to Dead by Daylight when Behavior revealed the feature will be implemented recently during an anniversary broadcast, but prior to this new dev update, gamers had no clue what that would entail. Behavior stated that this “much-anticipated feature” will be included in the 6.4 release and detailed how it will function.

“As with 6.4.0, the host of a custom game can add a random Survivor bot to the lobby by clicking the ‘+’ symbol,” Behaviour explained. “You don’t like how the bot looked at you? The host has the option to delete the bot by clicking their name. You can play against a whole lobby of robot Survivors, fill vacant spaces with friends, or ignore them totally and play with a partial lobby of human pals like previously.”

When the bots initially appear in the custom games, there will only be Survivor bots. Behaviour stated that Killer bots would be added in a later game so that players may train versus a Killer if they so choose. The Killer bots’ delay is due to the AI having to be “taught to utilise each Killer’s power first,” but the Survivors don’t have to worry about that because they rely only on perks rather than powers.

Further upgrades to this feature will allow users to pick individual characters as bots as well as their loadouts, albeit for the time being, only Survivor bots will be available.
