Nintendo announced that there is no clear timeframe for when games will be added to the libraries of the new Game Boy and Game Boy Advance apps after unveiling two new game console applications for the Nintendo Switch Online service. Just a few days after the February 2023 Nintendo Direct show, an industry insider contacted Nintendo to enquire about the news.
Nintendo unveiled the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance apps for Nintendo Switch Online members on February 8 during the Nintendo Direct. The Game Boy app does not need the Expansion Pack upgrade, however the GBA app must. Both apps have a limited selection of games when they first launch, but Nintendo has promised that more games will be introduced in the future.
