Netflix has released a new Stranger Things video game surprise

Today is Stranger Things Day, and Netflix has made a lot of announcements to commemorate the occasion. Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, a new game offered only to Netflix members, is the most recent addition! Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, as the title suggests, combines puzzle activity with the Stranger Things franchise. The game is described by Netflix as a “match-3 puzzle RPG” in which players must enlist characters from the show to battle enemies such as the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, and others. The aesthetics of the game are also intended to replicate the look of a Saturday Morning cartoon.

Stranger Things’ official Twitter account has posted a trailer for the game, which can be seen in the Tweet attached below. Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is now available on the App Store and Google Play, and can be discovered by clicking here. Fans who are reluctant to accept mobile games will be relieved to learn that this one has no in-app purchases.

While the game’s App Store description implies that players will be able to unlock “dozens of different versions of your favourite characters as they have grown and evolved through the seasons,” the description also states that the game contains “new, exclusive Stranger Things storylines.” Players will also be able to level up their characters with new powers and abilities.

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is created by Next Games, a completely owned subsidiary of Netflix. Over the past year, Netflix has made a concerted effort to grow into video games, and it just announced the acquisition of its sixth in-house studio. Unfortunately, the streaming behemoth has failed to raise awareness of its video game offerings so far, but the Stranger Things franchise’s popularity might persuade a lot more people to check out what the firm has to offer.
