J.K. Simmons' Omni-Man unleashes his superhuman brutality in a new trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character.
Mortal Kombat 1’s upcoming DLC character, Omni-Man, has received his first-look trailer, showcasing his vicious attacks and appropriately gruesome finishers.
Portrayed by the seasoned actor J.K. Simmons, Omni-Man is a superhuman antagonist originating from Robert Kirkman’s ‘Invincible’ comic series, later adapted into an animated series for Amazon. Omni-Man is set to join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster as part of the first Kombat Pack, which is included in the game’s premium edition.
The trailer features intense battles between Omni-Man and series veterans Liu Kang and Scorpion. In one particularly gory finisher, Omni-Man grabs Scorpion and positions him in front of a subway, paying homage to a chilling scene from the ‘Invincible’ TV series.
Another finisher sees Omni-Man squeezing Liu Kang’s head open, akin to a disturbing moment from the TV show. NetherRealm Studios has clearly captured the ruthless nature of Omni-Man’s combat style.
The addition of J.K. Simmons’ Omni-Man to Mortal Kombat 1 is a thrilling development, as the cold-blooded antagonist seamlessly fits into the game’s violent and unrelenting world.
