Microsoft Copilot Teams Up with Suno to Create Personalized Songs from Text Prompts

Microsoft Copilot just dropped a cool new trick – it can now cook up songs based on your text prompts, all thanks to a collaboration with the AI-based music creation platform Suno. According to Microsoft, this feature opens the door for users to create personalized songs “regardless of musical background.” Suno has been tinkering with algorithms for a while now, aiming to birth an AI capable of whipping up entire songs, and it seems like they’ve nailed it.

Using this tool is a breeze – just type in a prompt, and let the algorithm work its magic. The result? Songs that are promised to be “fun, clever, and personalized,” complete with lyrics and singing voices. And hey, if you’re more into instrumentals, that’s on the menu too. While AI has been making waves in the music scene, most tools cater to musicians. Not this one – Microsoft designed it for the everyday person looking to whip up a tune for a birthday email or something.

Microsoft throws out prompt examples like “create a pop song about adventures with your family” or “make a song that captures the spirit of growing up.” Keep in mind, though, that the Suno add-on might tap into any personal data Copilot gathers during use, so these songs could get pretty specific.

The feature is rolling out starting today, but here’s the catch – it’s a phased release. So, don’t be surprised if it takes a few weeks before you see it pop up in your updates. In the meantime, there’s a ton of other things Copilot can do to keep you entertained.
