Microsoft has just announced that they’re going to be shutting down support for Windows 10 Home and Pro. As part of this, they’re going to be stopping the sale of downloads starting January 31st. That’s right, the last day to get your hands on a Windows 10 download and license key is coming up fast. But don’t worry, they’ll still be providing security updates until October 2025.
So, if you’re still rocking Windows 10, it’s time to upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft’s even advising customers to do so, but they’re also saying that Windows 10 may still be available from other retailers and OEMs.
Windows 10 has been around since 2015, and it’s been a solid 10 years, but all good things must come to an end. It was announced as part of the “modern lifecycle policy” in June 2021, just before Windows 11 was launched.
Windows 11 has received decent reviews, but there have been some complaints about upgrade restrictions. However, Microsoft did relax the system requirements shortly after launch. But despite that, migration from Windows 10 has been slow according to recent reports.
So, that’s the deal fam, get your hands on a Windows 10 download and license key before January 31st, or upgrade to Windows 11.
