Faster downloads may be handy for people who want to try out another new feature available on all models (except the first, regrettably). After installing the v53 firmware, you can have all of your apps automatically updated before the headset shuts down. According to Meta, this should help you avoid waiting for an app update the next time you pick up your headset. However, this may only be truly beneficial for the most ardent Quest users. If you go a few weeks between VR experiences, you may still need to update apps when you put your headset back on. You may disable this feature in the power-off dialogue.
