Killer Instinct will be free-to-play on Xbox and Steam

Get ready for some fighting game action because Killer Instinct is breaking free! Celebrating a decade since its Xbox One exclusive reboot, Killer Instinct is embracing the free-to-play vibe. Soon, you can unleash your combo breaker skills without spending a dime. The base version offers a weekly rotating fighter and access to single-player, local, and ranked modes, making it a tempting treat on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Now, if you are someone who wants to go all-out, you can also get the Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition for a cool $30. This bundle will bring you all 29 fighters, exclusive premium content, an XP booster, and some cool holiday-themed in-game accessories. This edition will be replacing the Definitive edition on the Xbox consoles as well as the PC. Fan favourite content like developer interviews and concept art will not be included in the Anniversary Edition, so that is a miss.

If you are someone who plays games on Steam and you are planning to get yourself the Killer Instinct game, then we highly recommend you get the Anniversary Edition. This is because Iron Galaxy will not be selling individual character anymore, and the one thing you don’t want, is playing Killer Instinct without the entire roster. We still don’t know when this Anniversary Edition will land, but it shouldn’t be too long now.
