How to show the Menu Bar in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is the new generation web browser introduced by Microsoft alongside the Windows 10 platform, marking a significant departure from the company’s previous browser offerings. It is a direct successor to the venerable Internet Explorer browser that had been the staple for Windows operating systems for over two decades. However, the key difference here is that instead of merely renaming or incrementally upgrading Internet Explorer, Microsoft has taken a ground-up approach to the application, resulting in a completely new and reimagined web browser experience with Microsoft Edge.

This bold move acknowledges the rapidly evolving landscape of the internet and the need for a modern, fast, and secure browsing experience that can keep pace with the demands of today’s users. Microsoft Edge is built on the Chromium open-source project, the same foundation that powers Google’s Chrome browser, ensuring compatibility with the latest web standards and a vast ecosystem of extensions and web apps.

The Microsoft Edge browser contains features and functionalities that were previously absent in the Internet Explorer browser. The browser currently is still a work in progress, so keep an eye out for updates by Microsoft.

The menu bar, which is very popular with Microsoft Windows users, is a feature that is not inherently present in the Microsoft Edge browser. The menu bar increases the functionality of the browser and luckily, thanks to the support for add ons, it is now possible to add a Menu Bar in the Microsoft browser.

How to show the Menu Bar in Microsoft Edge

In this tutorial, we will show you how to display the Menu Bar in the Microsoft Edge browser.

Open the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows 10 PC/Laptop.

Head to the Edge Add-Ons webpage on the Microsoft Edge browser. Click here to visit the Add-ons page.

Click on the ‘Get‘ button to add the ‘Proper Menubar’ add-on to your Microsoft Edge browser.

Confirm the installation and in a few moments, the Proper Menubar add-on button will be visible on the browser.

You can now click on the ‘Proper Menubar‘ add-on button and you will see that a default menu bar will be added to the Microsoft Edge browser.

The add-on is also a work in progress and the developers periodically improve it to add in more stability and functionality.
