The Telegram app allows you to access the messenger on multiple platforms (MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS), and the best part is that you do not need to create multiple accounts. Just create one, and sign in on multiple devices using the same. Now, if you are in a situation where you have changed your device or lost your device, then it becomes imperative that you sign out of Telegram on that changed or lost device, as the latter situation could put you at risk.
It is very easy to log out of devices on Telegram, and in this guide, we are going to walk you through the process, step by step.
Step 1. Open the Telegram app on your device of choice. We will be using Telegram on the Mac, but the process will not change for other platforms.
Step 2. Click on the ‘Settings’ icon to open the app settings.
Step 3. In the settings menu, click on the ‘Active Sessions’ option.
Step 4. Here, you will see all the devices that have your Telegram account signed in. Here, you have multiple options –
If you want to sign out of all sessions except the one you are using, click on the ‘Terminate all other sessions‘ option.
If you want to log out of a specific device, simply click on it and click on the ‘Terminate session‘ button.
You also have the option to automatically sign out of all device if you are inactive for a certain amount of time. If this is something you want to do, you can head to the bottom of the screen and under the ‘Automatically Terminate old sessions’ option, set the time limit and you are done.
