Know that robotics and artificial intelligence are not the same. When it comes to robotics, it concerns the building, designing, and programming of a robot or a machine. However, programming doesn’t automatically equate to AI.

Just think of a basic machine that is programmed to pick up an object on a specific spot. AI isn’t required because the machine will only ever pick up the object on the specified spot and not do anything else. The machine is only programmed this way, but if AI tech will be involved, the process will be much more complicated. This is because the programming will then include logic, pattern matching, solving, and learning.

When AI is involved in robotics, the machine that we used as an example should not be only able to pick up an object on the same spot again and again. It could then be coded or programmed to be smart and process complexities like how it should move to be able to search other areas if it didn’t find an object on the specified spot.
