Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on Xbox within the next year

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to the 2017 indie side-scrolling action platformer Hollow Knight, will be released on Xbox, Microsoft announced on Sunday during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The day it is released, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

While there is no official release date, Xbox executive Sarah Bond stated during the event that all of the games shown will be available within the next 12 months. The official Xbox Twitter account confirmed that timeline, so we now have an idea of when to expect the game.

Microsoft also released a new trailer with new gameplay footage, which you can see at the top of this post. Silksong has a new world to explore, new enemies to battle, and a new orchestral score, in addition to allowing you to play as an entirely different character, Hornet. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux as well.

Silksong developer Team Cherry first announced the game, which was originally planned as DLC for Hollow Knight, in February 2019. Silksong returned to E3 in 2019, but we haven’t heard much about the game since.

In 2018, I completed the first Hollow Knight and enjoyed exploring its vast map and learning how to overcome the game’s difficult difficulty. I’ve been looking forward to Silksong since it was first announced, and I’m excited to get my hands on it soon.
