Google unveils latest set of innovative features for Android and Wear OS platforms

Google has revealed a range of new features for Android and Wear OS platforms at this year’s MWC, aimed at making users’ digital lives smoother. These include a new widget for Google Keep, allowing users to check off to-do lists directly from their home screen, and the ability to dictate notes and to-do list items from a compatible watch.

One of the more notable changes is improved noise cancellation in Google Meet on some Android devices. The feature can filter out the noise of nearby construction or other distractions while chatting. Google has also introduced the ability to connect new Bluetooth headphones to a Chrome OS device with a single tap, using the Fast Pair feature.

For more personalized messaging, Google has added the ability to merge different emojis to create a more relevant response. For example, users can merge the Basketball emoji with the Heart Eyes to create a heart-shaped basketball or add a basketball-like texture to those same heart eyes. Android handsets also feature new tap-to-pay animations for a more visually pleasing experience.

Google has also focused on accessibility, with Chrome on Android now offering up to 300% zoom for content while preserving page layout. Wear OS 3+ has introduced Mono-audio for those who may find stereo distracting, as well as grayscale and colour-correction modes for the watch display for easier viewing.
