Meaning – The term help, refers to the assistance offered by one individual to another individual in times of difficulty.
In the context of software and technology, the term help refers to the assistance section found inside a software package or provided with an electronic device, that assists the user in using the software package or device, in order to avoid misunderstandings or inadvertent damage to either.
The help section is periodically updated by the developer or the product company to cover more sections or questions that have been sent across to them, from users in large numbers.
Example of usage – “Since he was not able to grasp certain features within the software package, he decided to use the trusted help section within the package. There was a section within the help area wherein the user could type in customized queries that would be automatically sent to the company or developers.”
